I love stumbling on photos! These pictures were taken at the beginning of November, probably on the 4th, when I took Orso to Orlando with me. I never allow Orso on my bed at home, so traveling is always fun for him since he gets his own hotel bed to sleep on! Here are some photos of Orso giving me some Corso love and kisses, enjoy!

By the way, the handsome fawn (light-colored) dog in the last photo is Cleo’s daddy, Stanley Pat Nif-Nif aka Ace! So great to have them in the show ring together!
Below are photos that Kathi was kind enough to have taken of Cleo while she was in the ring, enjoy! I am very happy with Karma’s show results from today in Ocala, Florida! It is only her 2nd time in the ring and she did great! Karma took 1st place in her age class then went back in for the winner bitch class and took reserve winners bitch with her handler Daniel Sanchez. We are very excited to see how Karma’s show career will develop over the next few months! Many thanks to Daniel, Vanessa, Judge Mr. Frank McCartha and of course, to our baby girl, Karma!
Below are our favorite photos from today, courtesy of our dear friend, JoAnne Campbell of Blue Ridge Cane Corsos, enjoy! Both Cleo and Karma made their show ring debuts this weekend and did great! I am so proud of them both! I wish I had photos or video to share, but since we were not there with the girls, we have no pictures or footage to post. If our handlers took any photos, we will post them as soon as we get them!
Cleo was showing in Tucson, Arizona, with her handler, Kathi Wisdom. On Sunday, November 13th, 2011, Cleo won 1st place in her class, Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite. On Monday, November 14th, 2011, Cleo again won 1st place in her class, Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite. Thanks, Kathi! Karma was showing in Brooksville, Florida, with her handlers Daniel & Vanessa Sanchez. On Sunday, November 13th, 2011, Karma won 1st in her class. It was her 6th month birthday and she spent it working like a show dog! Thanks, Danny & Vanessa! Last week, Orso had his elbows x-rayed for OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) review and we are thrilled to announce that his preliminary results report that his elbows are normal. Although OFA requires that official results be issued for radiographs after 24 months of age, they do send out preliminary reports, which is what Orso received in today’s mail since he is only 16 months old. As of right now, Orso is:
OFA Normal for Patellas OFA Normal for Heart OFA Normal for Elbows (Preliminary Report) PennHIP 70th Percentile (Top 30% for Cane Corso hips 0.55/0.55) Costa Bel Cane Corso is committed to producing healthy puppies and we will always perform rigorous health testing on our dogs before he or she is bred. This is our contribution to the positive progression of the Cane Corso breed. Below is a copy of Orso’s OFA Normal Elbows preliminary report from OFA. To learn more about the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), visit them online by clicking here. Thank you to Dr. Maureen Bushnell and her amazing team at Redland Animal Hospital for taking such great care of Orso during his visit! This is a video from this morning’s Rally-Obedience practice session with Orso. We have the Miami December shows just 4 weeks away, where Orso is entered in Rally Novice. He already has 2 of his required 3 legs done toward his AKC Rally Novice title, so we are hoping to earn this title at those shows. The video below shows how well he has come along in only 3 sessions of working obedience. I am taking him to group obedience classes twice a week up through the shows so he gets used to being in a “dog show” setting again since it’s been a few months since he was at his last show. I use toys for reward instead of food and it works nicely for keeping him engaged and making work fun. The video is almost 5 minutes long, enjoy! Last week, Orso had his hips xrayed for PennHIP scoring and we are thrilled to announce that his hips are in the top 30% of the Cane Corso breed, according to PennHIP! Orso is also OFA normal for his patellas and OFA normal for his heart. Health testing is a vital component of the Costa Bel Cane Corso program and we feel the responsible thing to do is to pass on good genetics, so it is with pride that we present below a copy of Orso’s PennHIP results. To learn more about PennHIP, visit them online by clicking here. Thank you to Dr. Maureen Bushnell and her amazing team at Redland Animal Hospital for taking such great care of Orso during his visit!
Ever since Karma left to stay with her show handlers for a little bit, Orso, Mouse & Luna have been a little down. It also didn’t help that I packed up most of the toys for Karma, so there weren’t many distractions in the house. A shopping spree was in order! New beds, toys & treats arrived for Orso, Mouse & Luna to get their spirits up, see below! I think it worked…
